The first National Data Hub comes into being

The Actua platform enables tourism and mobility data to be cross-referenced

The first Andorran National Data Hub, promoted by Actua, was launched on Tuesday 18 December, at the Andorran Innovation Area. Josep Maria Missé, the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification and Innovation, pointed out that “this platform is designed to store, cross-check, connect and process data from multiple information sources, with the aim of unifying and centralising the data generated by different suppliers,” such as Andorra Telecom, the Andorran Government Department of Mobility and Forces Elèctriques d’Andorra (FEDA), amongst others.
In this regard, Marc Pons, Director of Actua Innovació, pointed out that “the main objective is to provide an environment with the latest architecture and technology on the market to be able to perform data analysis that allows us to understand past, present or future scenarios” and added that "at the same time, it needs to be able to foresee and model future developments in order to support decision-making”.
Some use cases are currently being developed which are of great significance for the country, and they will be put into action immediately so that they can provide a response as quickly as possible. Some of these are:
-Tourism: Using the data provided by Andorra Telecom and others that will eventually be added it will be possible to conduct a real-time analysis of tourist metrics: numbers, categorisation by country, average overnight stay per tourist, loyalty, zoning, behaviour and footfall, which will make it possible to make a significant improvement to the current monitoring and control systems. 

-Mobility: The mobility department requires more data to gain accurate, detailed knowledge of the current state of the road network, number of vehicles that use each road, most commonly frequented routes... At Actua, using multiple data sources, a joint mobility model project will be undertaken which will allow a response to be made to these situations of uncertainty. 

The Actua platform must also serve as an inclusive environment, capable of generating synergies with other organisations, so new services can be developed jointly.
