The commitment of Andorra Telecom to fostering entrepreneurship in the technology industry and encouraging the development of new activities that contribute to the economic diversification of the country has taken the form of the NIU, which translates to "nest", the country's first business incubator and accelerator.
The creation of the NIU falls within Andorra Telecom's commitment and support to the country's business and production community, although it has the objective of becoming an economically sustainable project.
The NIU, a unique space in Andorra, creates a collaborative ecosystem for the development of new companies, provided with the support of Andorra Telecom, mentors and partners in order to ensure the projects' success.
The facilities, located in the Arcs de la Massana Building, have a total of 18 workplaces, three meeting rooms and common areas. The company selection process is a carried out through public tender.
The project is divided into an initial incubation phase, in order for the initiative to have time to mature, followed by the creation of the company. The second acceleration phase is where the search for financing begins with the first round of investors. The next step is the beginning of the commercialisation of the product or service, to be followed by a second round of investment and finally, the company flying the "nest", by this time being fully operational.
Andorra Telecom provides companies with a network of mentors, who watch over the projects, and assessors, who give support and also organise the investor rounds.
