Andorra Telecom not only stands firmly beside high-level competition skiing, it also supports youth skiing, and specifically one of its greatest international competitions, the Trofeu Borrufa , as it is known in Catalan. Ever since 1992, Ordino and the country as a whole has given a very warm welcome to the international delegates of this great event, a unique occasion to see future champions in action.
The Borrufa Trophy is considered one of the most prestigious and important events on the alpine skiing calendar of the ISF's Children's Races Organizing Committee. Both the girls' and boys' races are open to children in the U14 categories (13 and 14 year-olds) and those in the U16 category (15 and 16 year-olds).
The whole race is held in the Ordino parish. The Arcalis ski trails become the setting for the giant, slalom, super giant and combined disciplines, while the opening and closing ceremonies are held in Ordino's main square, the Plaça Major.
The bestowing of the prizes is one of the most anxiously awaited and famed moments of the competition. As a gift, the winner of each event receives his or her weight in sweets.
