Andorra Telecom Presents the Technological Experience of the New Espai Columba
We are sponsoring the Museum that houses the frescoes from the Church of Santa Coloma
Espai Columba, which houses the Santa Coloma frescoes, opened its doors last Thursday. This cultural facility, the gateway to the Andorran Romanesque, has Andorra Telecom as its only sponsor
"We’re very pleased to be able to participate in a national project where technology plays an important role and helps us to disseminate not only the Romanesque in general, but a major work, such as the frescoes of Santa Coloma," stated the Managing Director of Andorra Telecom, Jordi Nadal.
The Ministry of Culture is committed to using new technologies to enjoy art in a different way, to help visitors get a better understanding and get to know our cultural heritage and therefore our history.
Andorra Telecom is providing two interactive screens located on the ground floor of the Espai, which allow visitors to discover the location of the main monuments and works of Andorran Romanesque and their characteristics, and to create their own itinerary.
The collaboration has also made it possible to incorporate a large, Full HD videowall on the first floor measuring 20 square metres made up of a total of 18 monitors. The large screen will allow spectacular images of our Romanesque art to be projected.
"Connection and communication using technology are the mainstays of our activity. Collaborating with the Espai Columba gives us an opportunity to pursue these and to play our part in disseminating our heritage," explained Jordi Nadal.
Espai Columba is located just a few metres from the Church of Santa Coloma. While the frescoes from the apse have been installed in this new setting, the church hosts a spectacular video clip that shows how they were conceived by their creator.
Andorra Telecom is also a sponsor of the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum, providing four interactive screens designed to contextualise the works and authors of the temporary exhibitions that take place there.
