Début with three consecutive wins by Sant Ermengol in the Lego League
They came out top in the robotics challenge and in the scientific and values projects.
The fifth edition of the Micro First Lego League on Wednesday at the Prat del Roure in Escaldes-Engordany brought together a record-breaking 92 competitors and twelve teams. The great novelty this year was Sant Ermengol school which, with one of the two teams in competition, managed to come out top in the robotics challenge and the scientific and values projects. Representatives from the Mare Janer and Sagrada Família schools and from three secondary schools in the Andorran system, also took part in the event.
This year the Micro First Lego League focused on a challenge called “Into Orbit”, based on space exploration. The teams submitted a scientific project and a values project, which were evaluated by a specialist panel of judges. Carles Casadevall, the spokesman for Andorra Telecom, praised the high level of female participation “in the field of technology where men usually predominate”
Andorra Telecom promotes this initiative as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility project to encourage career choices in the field of science and technology. The Company Spokesman, Carles Casadevall, highlighted the aim to guide students “more towards the sciences” to produce “future engineers and programmers working for Andorran companies and for Andorra Telecom.”
