The 2nd Rubik’s Cube Tournament will be held on Saturday, with 58 participants
A total of 58 participants will take part in the 2nd Andorra Rubik’s Cube Tournament, held this Saturday at FNAC Andorra. Andorra Telecom and Pyrénées, together with the Rubik’s Club of Catalonia, have organized this competition, which is included in the World Cube Association (WCA) international calendar.
One of the participants in this second edition is Berta Garcia Parra, 2017 world sub-champion in the blind 3x3x3 category, with an average solving time of 29.76 seconds. The current Andorran champion, Spanish sub-champion and the 69th-place finalist in the world championship will also be participating.
A total of twelve of the 58 participants are from Andorra. Other participants are from Spain (40), France (5) and the United States (1)..
The tournament rules specify that all participants will take part in the 3x3 category. The other trials are as follows:
Rubik’s Cube: 56 participants
2x2x2 cube: 48 participants
Pyraminx: 45 participants
4x4x4: 34 participants
Skewb: 32 participants
One-handed 3x3x3: 31 participants
3x3x3 fewest moves: 22 participants
Square-1: 15 participants
Rubik’s Clock: 15 participants
Blind 3x3x3: 12 participants
The 3x3x3 final, one of the most interesting events of the day, will be held from 4:55 pm to 5:25 pm, with the awards ceremony taking place at 8:30 pm.
In this edition, the absolute winner will take home a three-day European Smart Box, and the best national competitor will take home a two-day Smart Box. The competition will be held tomorrow, November 25, starting at 10:00 am. The qualifying competitions will be held in the morning, and the finals will be held in the afternoon.
