The third national Rubik's cube tournament takes place on 24 November
Andorra Telecom and Pyrénées have organized a fully consolidated event with support from the Rubik's Cube Club of Catalonia.
The Andorran Rubik’s Cube tournament, which will take place on 24 November, is included in the World Cube Association's (WCA) international schedule. The event will feature 10 different categories. Competitors will have to solve different types of puzzles, such as Pyraminx, Clock, Skewb or Square-1, and at different levels, such as 2x2 or 4x4. Furthermore, spectacular challenges, such as one-handed solving, solving with the least number of movements or whilst blindfolded, are included. Either way, the "Top" category will be the traditional Rubik's cube test.
This third edition has the highest ranked national award, a new feature that was included in the 2017 edition, and awards for the outright winners in each category.
The registration fee is 2 euros, mainly to ensure that all those who register show up on the day of the tournament.
As at the first edition, the competition will be held on just one day, Saturday 24 November. The qualifying rounds will be held in the morning, and the finals will be held in the afternoon. There is a limit of 60 places, and registration must be done via the WCA portal www.worldcubeassociation.org. The Pyrénées website will also have a special page where you can register.
Andorra Telecom includes this partnership among its initiatives to support science and technology training activities, with special events designed for young people, such as the Micro First Lego League (MFLL) and the World Robot Olympiad (WRO). As for Pyrénées, the organisation of this tournament is part of the FNAC project to boost cultural and leisure activities.
In this way, both companies maintain their commitment to devoting a great day to the best-selling game of all time: the Rubik's Cube.
