Four DTT channels will change their frequency from October 1st
The retuning will allow Andorra Televisió to be received in high definition
The changes in the frequencies of four DTT channels nationwide will commence on October 1st. This change, mandatory for Andorra, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and known as the second digital dividend, will be implemented in stages during the first three weeks of next month.
The DTT channels affected by this frequency shift will be Esports3, Euronews, TV5 Monde and Pirineus TV. In addition, this change will also allow reception of Andorra Televisió in high definition (HD).
To be able to watch these five channels after October, residential blocks need to make a small change to their collective aerials (which can be made now), while single-family homes will only have to re-tune their DTT channels to the new, updated frequency.
The planned schedule of the changes, depending on the amplifier affected, is as follows:
October 1st: Arinsal, Pal and Xixerella
October 3rd: Arans and Llorts
October 7th: Andorra La Vella, Escaldes -Engordany, La Massana, Santa Coloma, Sispony, El Serrat,
Llorts, Vila and Juberri
October 9th: Pas de la Casa, Ransol, Soldeu, El Tarter, L'Aldosa (Canillo) and Incles.
October 11th: Canillo, Prats and Forn
October 14th: Encamp, Ordino, Vila, La Cortinada, Sornàs, Sispony and Ansalonga
October 16th: Sant Julià de Lòria, Certers, Nagol, Aixirivall, Aixovall, Aubinyà, Canolich, Bixessari and Aixàs
October 18th: Fontaneda
