Node, the slogan of the winning project in the competition of ideas for Andorra Telecom’s new headquarters.
Today, the Board of Directors approved the proposal for the awarding of prizes for the competition for ideas for the project titled “Andorra Telecom’s New Headquarters”, which will be located at 112, Avinguda Meritxell in Andorra la Vella.
The jury, chaired by the Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors and made up of representatives of Andorra Telecom, the Government, the Municipality of Andorra la Vella, the Architects’ Association of Andorra, ACODA and the neighbourhood, chose the project by architect Xavier Orteu from the nine contestants in the competition. He won €20,000 and he was commissioned to draw up and manage the project.
The jury awarded the second prize, worth €10,000, to the project by architects Lluis Ginjaume, Gerard Veciana and Elisabeth Faura, while the third prize, worth €5,000, was won by the team made up of Esther Pascal and Carles Gras. Finally, €2,000 was awarded to the projects in fourth and fifth places, the former submitted by Marc Monegal and the latter by Sònia Palau and Daniel Pérez.
The proposals will be presented to the media at an awards ceremony to be held next week.
Minister Torres highlighted the quality of the projects submitted and, in relation to the winning project, the jury unanimously agreed with the architectural proposal’s suitability for the environment, which will help to enhance the area and the commercial movements between Avinguda Meritxell and the Fener, Riberaygua and Travesseres areas. The building will project a modern and technological image while being sustainable and it’s thus sure to become a landmark in the commercial hub around Avinguda Meritxell.
