End of the DTT frequency changeover

Work has been carried out at all thirteen relay stations around the country
Operations to change the DTT frequency in all the country’s relay stations ended last week.
These changes ensure compliance with the demands of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) by freeing up he space needed to include 5G technology, which is expected to arrive soon.

The spokesperson for Andorra Telecom, Carles Casadevall, highlighted the work carried out by the company’s technical team: “All of the work has been carried out satisfactorily and with as little inconvenience as possible for users, since it was all done in the early hours of the morning when the television audience is at its lowest. We also took advantage of the need for these changes to introduce the signal for Andorra Television in high definition, which provides significant added value for DTT users”

To be able to view the channels affected by the change of frequency (TV5 Monde, Esports3, Euronews and Andorra Television HD), users living in apartment blocks need to make a small change to their collective aerial, while those living in single-dwellings only need to retune their TV set.
